Serve steaming hot on a serving dish together with 'neeps' (mashed turnips) and 'tatties' (mashed potatoes).
Chieftain Haggis in natural casing:
Preheat the oven to 160oC
Wrap the Chieftain Haggis loosely in plenty of tin foil
Add approx. 1/2 inch of water to a casserole dish
Place the wrapped Haggis in the casserole dish in the oven
Cook for 30 minutes per lb of Haggis (=1 hour 40 minutes for 3.5lb).
Top up the water if required.
Carefully unwrap the Haggis to avoid damaging the casing
Serve steaming hot on a serving dish and cut open at the table to see the Haggis gushing out.
Haggis Bung or Roll in synthetic casing or Vegetarian haggis:
Place the Haggis Bung or Roll in a pot filled with water.
Carefully simmer the Haggis for 30 minutes (Bung) or 90 minutes (Roll). making sure that the water does not reach boiling point.
Serve steaming hot.
Alternatively you can reheat thick slices of Haggis in the Microwave for 2.5 minutes, making sure that all packaging has been removed first.
