About Product

Cooked in minutes and supremely tender, these venison steaks are from the loin and are ideally served pink. Remove from the fridge and allow to reach room temperature, then pat dry, season and pan fry.

Our venison is from wild red deer from Scottish estates, which have grazed freely on a mixed diet which gives it the wonderfully woody, almost fruity flavour. The meat is matured for 10 - 14 days to tenderize and allow the flavours to develop fully. The steaks are hand trimmed by our master butchers here in Linlithgow.

Wild venison is sometimes described as the clean, healthy red meat. Compared to beef, venison is not only lower in fat and calories, but higher in trace elements like iron and vitamin B. The meat has a fine, close grained texture and very little marbling. Since venison is low in fat using bacon or an oil based marinade helps to add extra moisture. Venison is best served pink.

Your meat order is kept cool in transit because we either use an insulated expanded polystyrene box, or a recyclable tough corrugated cardboard box which is foil lined and insulated with bubble wrap. Both boxes are leak-proof and sturdy.

To keep your delivery cool, it is packed along with specially designed ice packs. Our ice packs are made with a frozen water-based gel, which keeps the meat at the correct temperature for up to 48 hours. When the ice does melt, it stays as a gel, which prevents the delivery becoming wet.
