A classic succulent steak on the bone, sometimes called Carvery Rib Eye Steak, with plenty of lean meat in the eye. Cote de boeuf steak is a thick rib eye cut from the fore rib, with the bone left attached to add extra depth of flavour as it cooks. Big in size and full of flavour, these are frequently served as a meal for two to share.

For best results, sear in a pan and finish in the oven.
Remove the côte de boeuf from the fridge before cooking and allow it to come towards room temperature. Season generously with salt and pepper, then sear in a hot pan on both sides until well browned.
Transfer to a preheated oven at 190°C and cook until the steak reaches your preferred level of doneness.
Once cooked, rest for 15-20 minutes before carving to allow the juices to redistribute.
After searing, a Côte de Boeuf will typically need around 10-20 minutes in a 190°C oven, depending on its thickness and how you like your steak.
For the most reliable results, use a meat thermometer to check the centre rather than relying on cooking time alone. Remember that the internal temperature can continue to rise while the steak rests, so remove it from the oven slightly before it reaches your desired final temperature.
Your meat order is kept cool in transit because we either use an insulated expanded polystyrene box, or a recyclable tough corrugated cardboard box which is foil lined and insulated with bubble wrap. Both boxes are leak-proof and sturdy.
To keep your delivery cool, it is packed along with specially designed ice packs. Our ice packs are made with a frozen water-based gel, which keeps the meat at the correct temperature for up to 48 hours. When the ice does melt, it stays as a gel, which prevents the delivery becoming wet.
